In this section you will find useful information about using an electronic ticket, paying for travel, and topping up your transport card.

From August 1, 2026, public transport in Rivne will completely switch to the E-Pass electronic ticket.

For most passengers, the method of paying for travel will not change – as before, you can pay for your trip with cash, a transport card, a bank card or a smartphone with contactless payment support.

At the same time, with the full launch of the system, two new services will be launched:

  • in pilot mode – a digital transport card in the EasyPay application;
  • a one-time QR ticket that can be purchased for cash at EasyPay terminals at transport stops and in the city.

Thus, residents can choose the most convenient payment method for themselves, and passengers who use cash will continue to have the opportunity to pay for their travel.

What methods of payment for travel are available to passengers?

So, from August 1, you can pay for public transport in Rivne in several ways:

  • Digital transport card (operating in pilot mode) – a new way to pay for travel with a smartphone, which is a virtual analogue of a plastic card. For now, the card supports only the general fare, but others will be available later.
  • You can open a digital card in the EasyPay application or add an existing general plastic transport card to the application and pay for travel with a smartphone with NFC support.

General plastic transport card – for paying for daily trips at the general fare. Sold in the Sim23 and Simi store chains.
School and student transport cards – personalized cards that give students the right to pay for travel with a 50% discount.
A preferential transport card is for residents of the Rivne territorial community who are entitled to free or preferential travel in accordance with current legislation.
A bank card, Apple Pay and Google Pay wallets – just attach a card, smartphone or other NFC-enabled gadget to the validator.
A one-time QR ticket is a new payment method for passengers who use cash. The ticket can be purchased at any EasyPay terminal in the city or at public transport stops, and then scan the QR code on the validator during the trip.

Digital transport card is a new way to use an electronic ticket

A digital transport card is a modern alternative to a plastic card that allows you to pay for travel with an NFC-enabled smartphone without having to carry plastic with you. You can purchase a digital card directly in the EasyPay application, top up without a fee, view your balance and trip history. Everything you need to use a transport card is available in one place. If you already have a general, school or student transport card, you don’t need to buy a new one — just add it to the EasyPay application and enjoy all the benefits of the digital format.

Preferential transport cards currently only support use in plastic form.

Cash payment remains — now via a single QR ticket

Cash payment in Rivne is not being canceled — only the method of confirming this payment is changing, which becomes part of the unified E-Pass electronic ticket system.

Passengers who use cash can pay for their fare using a single QR ticket, which is now sold at EasyPay terminals located throughout the city and at public transport stops.

You can purchase a ticket in a few minutes:

  • Select the service “Rivneelectrotrans” → “Single QR ticket of the city of Rivne” in the terminal;
  • Select the type of ticket and indicate the desired number of trips (up to 9 single tickets can be purchased in one operation);
  • Pay for the ticket and receive a receipt(s) with a QR code;
  • Take the receipt with the QR code with you and validate it at the beginning of the trip in transport using the Scan QR button on the validator;
  • Be sure to keep the receipt with the QR code until the end of the trip – in case the payment is checked by the controller.

Do not forget to validate the trip – controllers work on the routes

After launching the electronic ticket, each trip must be validated immediately after boarding the transport. It is successful validation that confirms the payment for the trip and is checked by the controller during payment control.

This rule applies to all passengers, regardless of the payment method or category of transport card.

Even if you are entitled to free travel, validation is still mandatory.

If the trip is not validated, it will be considered unpaid during the inspection.

All information about the e-ticket is already available on the official websites of the Rivne City Council, on the blog and YouTube channel of the e-ticket operator EasyPay.
