Creation of a hydrological reserve in the floodplain of the Ustya River.

Rivne floodplains are a unique floodplain ecosystem and a natural biological filter of the Ustya River with an area of ​​over 100 hectares, located within the Rivne community near the Ostvytsya historical reconstruction park. On November 20, 2025, the city council adopted a decision to create a hydrological reserve of local importance here to protect the environment and prohibit development.
Ecological significance and status
Natural filter: Water from the Ustya River passes through floodplains before entering the Basivkut reservoir, which improves its quality.
Biodiversity champion: The territory is home to many rare species of birds, animals and plants.
Conservation status: The project to create a reserve with an area of ​​about 101.6 hectares is supported by the city authorities to prevent any construction and economic destruction of the ecosystem.
