It is important not only to implement large-scale projects, but also to talk about their goals, results, and opportunities to those who are already shaping the future of our communities today.
Experience becomes especially important when shared. That is why it is important not only to implement large-scale projects, but also to talk about their goals, results and opportunities to those who are already shaping the future of our communities today.
During the visit to Rivne, young people from Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions talked about the implementation of the cross-border project “Development of sewerage infrastructure and improvement of wastewater management in Rivne and Lublin”.
During the meeting, they talked about how international cooperation can help solve specific urban problems, modernize infrastructure and introduce modern approaches to water resources management.
Special attention was paid to the practical component of the project – the development of sewerage infrastructure and improvement of the wastewater and stormwater management system. After all, high-quality drainage is an important part of the functioning of a modern city, which directly affects the comfort of residents, the state of the environment and the sustainability of urban infrastructure.
At the same time, such projects are much more than the construction or reconstruction of individual sections of networks. They are also about a responsible attitude to water resources, preventing environmental pollution, finding modern engineering solutions and forming a culture of rational water use.
It is especially valuable to discuss these issues with young people. After all, it is young people who are already active participants in the life of their communities today, and in the future will determine approaches to their development. Knowledge of how international projects work, how resources are attracted and how changes are implemented at the local level helps to better understand the capabilities of one’s own community and the role of each in its development.
Such meetings also provide an opportunity to exchange experiences between communities, talk about common challenges and show real examples of how cooperation can turn into concrete results.
For Rivne, the partnership with Lublin is an opportunity to adopt European experience, implement modern solutions and work together on issues that are important not only for the present, but also for future generations.
We thank the youth for their activity, interest and meaningful questions. It is important that young people not only know about the changes taking place in their communities, but also understand that they themselves can be a part of them.
The project is implemented within the framework of the Interreg NEXT Poland-Ukraine 2021–2027 Programme with financial support from the European Union.
