From August 15 to September 30, 2026, a ban on catching crayfish during their second molt is in effect in the Rivne region.
In the Rivne region, restrictions on the catch of aquatic bioresources are in effect every year in the spring and summer. The spawning ban is necessary in order to create favorable conditions for fish reproduction and the preservation of aquatic bioresources.
In 2026, in accordance with the established rules, the ban was in effect during the following periods:
in rivers and their root waters – from April 1 to May 20;
in reservoirs, lakes and other bodies of water – from April 1 to June 10;
in tributary waters of rivers – from April 1 to June 30.
At the same time, during the spawning period, amateur fishing is allowed only from the shore, outside the spawning grounds, in compliance with the established restrictions. In particular, you can use hook gear with no more than two hooks per angler or spinning with one artificial bait. The daily catch rate is up to 3 kg and 1 individual.
It is forbidden to use nets, traps, “spiders” and other prohibited fishing gear. It is also forbidden to catch in designated spawning grounds.
Compliance with these rules is not only a legal requirement, but also an important contribution to the preservation of the region’s fish stocks. It is during spawning that the natural reproduction of aquatic bioresources occurs, so interference with this process can negatively affect the condition of water bodies and the number of fish in the future.
Violation of fishing rules is subject to administrative liability, and for certain gross violations – criminal liability. In addition to a fine, the violator may be charged with damages caused to the fishery.
We call on fishermen to be responsible for the rules and protect the water resources of the Rivne region. How carefully we treat water bodies today depends on what they will be like for future generations.
